Take on the Creative Age Challenge
2 June - 10 June 2018
COULD you create 100 knitted sheep, sketch 500 postcards or model 1,000 clay figures?
Launching this June, our Creative Age Challenge 2018 provides people with the opportunity to create artwork alongside professional artists in a Creative mass challenge.
Developed by creative ageing charity Equal Arts, the pioneering project aims to boost dementia-friendly creative opportunities with cultural venues at the hub of the community.
Led by the interests and imaginations of people living with dementia, the challenges celebrate creativity while raising sponsorship to fund further dementia-friendly activities.
Kate Parkin, project lead at Equal Arts said: 'The challenges are an innovative way for cultural organisations to connect with new audiences and improve their dementia-friendly offer.
The feedback we've had from participants has been fantastic. We see how first-hand the benefits to people living in the moment and exploring their imaginations.'
A Creative Age participant at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art said: 'It's good for your mind, body and spirit. My family can't believe the change in me. I have been revitalised, I am enjoying everything so much and slowly rebuilding my confidence'
Creative Age Challenge 2018 will run take place from June 2 to June 10 and is open to galleries, museums, theatres, schools and libraries.
