Luminate is delighted to invite proposals for an extended artist residency in Erskine care homes starting this autumn.
We are part of a consortium working with older veterans in Scotland over the next 3 years. Unforgotten Forces is a partnership between 14 leading organisations which will deliver a range of new services and enhancements for older veterans living in Scotland. These services will cover areas such as advice, access to healthcare, social isolation, respite, along with creative activities and events for those in care settings.
As part of Unforgotten Forces we are collaborating with Erskine to offer an artist residency which will engage residents, families and staff in Erskine's care homes.
Two artists will be appointed, and each should be available for a commitment averaging two days' work per week across a period of just under three years from September 2017 to June 2020. The opportunity is open to two artists who work primarily in different artforms. It is envisaged that most of the creative work will be led by each artist individually, though each artist's work should be planned in liaison with the other. We are also keen to include activities that are co-designed and led jointly by both artists.
Applicants should have experience of participative work in community settings, including work with older adults. Experience of work in care settings is not essential, and relevant training will be provided.
Information on how to apply can be found at www.luminatescotland.org. Please email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9.00am on Monday 14 August. Interviews will be held at The Erskine Home at Bishopton on Wednesday 30 August.
